Over the past three summers, Taylor has had three different internships. During the summer of 2015 and 2016, Taylor worked for Genesis, an AE firm, located in Plymouth Meeting, PA. She worked on projects involving a variety of distribution equipment and worked as the assistant lead lighting designers for a large pharmaceutical project. At Genesis, she was able to strengthen her electrical engineering background while continuing to learn more about lighting design. Over the summer of 2017, Taylor worked as a lighting designer for The Lighting Practice in Philadelphia, PA. She strengthened her lighting background by working on detailed projects and communicating with owners, interior designers, and project managers. She learned how to develop well thought out lighting design concepts, verify energy codes, create detailed lighting fixture schedules and how to properly test a luminaire in computer programs. During the summer of 2018, Taylor worked at EwingCole, an AE firm, located in Philadelphia, PA. Her tasks here included both lighting design and electrical engineering work. EwingCole allowed her to work hand-in-hand with architects and interior designers when developing lighting designs. She strengthened her electrical engineering background by working on projects involving circuiting, controls, and power distribution systems. Upon graduation, Taylor will be working full-time for EwingCole in Philadelphia, PA.
